Hi, I’m Sarah — the baker, taster, and sometimes accidental kitchen scientist behind DiabeticsDessert.com.

I never imagined I’d be the person obsessing over glycemic indexes and carb counts. But after being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in my early 30s, my relationship with food had to change — fast. I remember standing in the grocery store, staring at a box of brownie mix, thinking, “So… desserts are just over now?”
Spoiler: they’re not.
At first, I tried to swear off sweets entirely. That lasted about a week. Then I tried every sugar-free product I could find, most of which tasted like sadness. Eventually, I started experimenting in my own kitchen — swapping flours, testing sweeteners, and learning how to make treats that wouldn’t spike my blood sugar or taste like cardboard.
This site is a collection of those experiments — the ones that worked, anyway. You’ll find recipes for cookies, cakes, puddings, and more, all designed to be blood sugar–friendly without sacrificing flavor. I’m not a professional chef or a nutritionist — just someone who loves dessert and refuses to let diabetes take that joy away.
If you’re here because you or someone you love is navigating life with diabetes, welcome. I hope these recipes bring a little sweetness back into your life — without the sugar crash.
